We’re in Historic Old Town, Albuquerque. From the Gazebo in the town plaza, cross Romero Street to the west, turn right and walk down to Church Street. On the left will be Plazuela Sombra. The 60s and 70s were a coming-of-age for America. We protested wars, presidents and anything else that restricted our lifestyles. It was a time for Women’s Liberation, Black Power, and we “made love, not war.” (Of course, “if you remember the 60s, you weren’t there,” according to some. Fortunately, though, we didn’t totally destroy our minds with recreational drugs).
